Hajiya Dr. Nana Aisha Gambo is the Chairman and Founder of the Framazaz Foundation. She is also the National President of the Naval Officers Wives Association (NOWA). She is an accomplished philanthropist and an entrepreneur par excellence. Her leadership of the Naval Officers Wives Association (NOWA) since February 27, 2021 has seen her focused and committed to improving the welfare of families of officers and ratings in the barracks. NOWA under her sterling leadership has complemented the efforts of the Nigerian Navy in welfare-related projects and charitable ventures in education, economic empowerment, health, and social services. She has also expanded the scope and scale of the activities of the association to improve the lives of the needy in rural communities in Nigeria. Under her watch as the leader of NOWA Nigerians living in rural communities have access to drinkable water with Clean Water Projects launched across the nation. Some of the beneficiary communities include Tafa, Niger State Clean Water Project, Obio Akpor LGA, Port Harcourt, Jagbe Village, Etsako West, Edo State, Dosara Gishiri, Kano State Water Project, Kaida Village, Gwagwalada, FCT Clean Water Project, and over a dozen others. A honorary Doctor of Philosophy holder, Hajiya Nana Aisha Gambo has also made the running of NOWA Secondary School in Karshi, Ojo, Calabar, Effurun, Offa, Ojo, Okoko, Port-Harcourt, and Apapa, Lagos State friction-free. She has won several awards, some of which include Best Supporting Partner, the Most Outstanding Partner, and the Fastest Growing Partner, all with Flour Mills of Nigeria plc. She was also awarded Ambassador of Peace and Security by the International Institute of Professional Security (IIPS). Hajiya Dr. Nana Aisha Gambo is a recipient of the AIDCA 2022 Outstanding Humanitarian Award of the Year for her philanthropic and humanitarian work and landmark achievements as the leader of NOWA.
Alhaji Ahmed is an accomplished public administrator who has served meritoriously in top government positions. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, both from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He also has honorary Doctorate Degrees in Law and of Letters awarded by the University of Abuja and Bayero University, Kano respectively. He was appointed Head of Service of the Federation in 2000, Defence Minister in 2007 and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation in 2008.
Mrs. Aminat Modupe Ibrahim was the National President of the Naval Officers Wives Association (NOWA) from the year 2010- 2012. She was also the President of Defense, Police Officers Wives Association (DEPOWA) from 2012-2014. Mrs. Aminat Modupe Ibrahim imbibed a passion for women’s rights for both officers and other ranks, early childhood education and the general well-being and welfare of Military and police officer’s wives. She is a mother to all and created an open and inclusive environment. Mrs. Aminat’s benevolence rubbed off throughout her tour of duty as she embarked on projects which include construction and renovation of educational facilities across the nation, improved salaries and welfare of both students and teachers under her care, empowering women and mothers, while catering for the long-term growth of both NOWA and DEPOWA respectively. Mrs. Aminat Modupe is also a successful entrepreneur and business woman. She is married to former Chief of Naval staff and Chief of Defense Staff, Ola Sa’ad Ibrahim and is blessed with 4 Children.
Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo CFR psc AM GSS ensp (RSA) MTM MNIM MUSNI FCIS FIIPS FCAI, is a Nigerian navy vice admiral, who is the Chief of Naval Staff of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari on 26 January 2021. He was born on 22 Apr 66 and hails from Nasarawa LGA in Kano State. He enlisted into the NN on 24 Sep 84 as a member of Regular Course 36 and was commissioned Sub-Lieutenant on 24 Sep 88. He is an Underwater Warfare specialist with a subspecialisation in InteIIigence. The senior officer has attended several military courses which include; Sub-Technical course and Officers Long course both at NNS QUORRA. He also attended Junior Division 48/99 and Senior Course 26 both at AFCSC Jaji. Other courses attended include the National Defence Course at the South African National Defence College. Until his recent appointment as the CNS, he was the Director of Procurement at the Defence Space Administration. The senior officer holds a PGD in Transport Management and a Master‘s degree in Transport Management (Logistics option) both from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology. He is also a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, Fellow of the Certified Institute of Shipping. Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria as well as a fellow of the National Defence College, South Africa. The senior officer has been awarded the Grand Service Star, Distinguished Service Star. passed staff course among other several decorations’and awards. He is married to Hajiya Nana Aishat Gambo and the marriage is blessed with 3 children.
Vice Admiral Ola Sa'ad Ibrahim DSS, psc, rcds, fwc, LLB (born 15 June 1955) is a retired Nigerian Navy admiral and former Chief of the Defence Staff of the Nigerian Armed Forces. He studied at Ahmadu Bello University (LLB) and King's College London (MA, War Studies), Ibrahim had his military training at the Nigerian Defence Academy and the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji. He served as Chief of the Naval Staff from 2010 to 2012, and as Chief of the Defence Staff from 2012 to 2014. He is a Navigation and Direction specialist and wears the Command at Sea Badge for successful command at sea on various Nigerian Naval Ships. Vice Admiral Ibrahim was a Directing Staff and a Chief Instructor respectively at the Department of Maritime Warfare, Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji. He holds the Bachelor of Laws Degree from Ahmadu Bello University. He was secretary to the Chief of the Naval Staff before being appointed to command the naval operations base, Nigerian Naval Ship BEECROFT in 2001. In February 2009, he was appointed as the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, the appointment he held till his elevation to the present appointment of the Chief of the Naval Staff on 8 September 2010. He was appointed navy secretary in August 2005. After that he was appointed chief of administration and subsequently chief of training and operations. In February 2009, he was appointed flag officer commanding Western Naval Command. He was appointed the chief of the naval staff on September 8, 2010.
